The history of
Fountaine Pajot
Fountaine Pajot was founded in 1976 by Jean-François Fountaine, Yves Pajot, Daniel Givon, and Rémi Tristan. They all shared a passion for sailing and racing, as well as the dream of establishing their own shipyard and setting new standards in the construction of performance catamarans.
Now, after more than 50 years, over 4,000 catamarans built, and more than 50 different models, the shipyard is among the most successful and prestigious in the world.
At its two locations in La Rochelle and Aigrefeuille, over 300 boats are now produced annually using state-of-the-art production methods and exported to sailing areas worldwide.
Fountaine Pajot has been listed on the Euronext Paris stock exchange under the ticker symbol ALFPC since June 2007 and is one of the financially strongest companies in the yachting industry.
In 2017, the product portfolio was further expanded with the acquisition of the Dufour shipyard.
Today, the shipyard is ideally equipped for the future with various sailing catamaran models between 40′ and 120′ and, since 1998, also with power catamarans up to 120′.

Like every year, the Cannes Yachting Festival — the largest in-water boat show — marks the start of the season, this year from 8 to 13 September.
